The AEM Technical Architect is expected to be the most knowledgeable technical resource on the project. Technical Architects have a responsibility to validate and enhance designs from a Solutions Architect to ensure technical feasibility and best development practices within a technical domain. They work on the most challenging technical tasks, either hands-on or through guidance to developers. The Technical Architect should have a deep understanding of how to configure AEM, as well as how to use OSGi layer, and have the ability to integrate into other marketing and IT systems. The AEM Technical Architect is also expected to be aware of the entire Adobe Experience Cloud set of offerings and have some experience integrating with some of those tools. Additionally, they provide oversight and technical project management to ensure quality of work performed and aid in team system setup, code reviews, knowledge transfer, mentoring, and leadership in challenging project tasks. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide the most senior technical leadership on multiple, diverse and complex Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) projects simultaneously providing guidance to project managers, technical leads and senior developers. Analyze the technical requirements of enterprise scale projects based on business requirements received from multiple client departments. Develop and document technical solutions and plans for those problems. Represent and defend those architectural decisions before Enterprise Architectural Review Boards for clients. Define all integration points between AEM and whatever enterprise systems are found within a client technology ecosystem. For example, integrations with e-commerce platforms (Magento a plus), CRM, ERP, Search, etc. Develop multi-year, multi-project architectural roadmaps for clients to lay out beneficial work streams for both client and company over an extended relationship. Lead technical deep dives and troubleshooting exercises for client AEM implementations both with the company's resources and clients' experts. Develop, implement, and configure web content management solutions using AEM and technologies such as Java, HTML/DHTML, XML, JavaScript, and web services. Assist clients in achieving strategic objectives through technology solution implementation. Setup and configuration of AEM development environments. Setup and configuration of AEM Author and Publish instances and ensuring all code works in both environments. Setup and configuration of dispatcher or proxy to run in front of AEM. Translating business requirements into technical details relevant to AEM. Ensure quality of code is high for themselves and other team members. Designing reusable AEM components for authoring content. Understand the client’s technical environment and how they use technology to provide the best, focused advice. Provide input into estimating engagement activities and execute engagements following the Agile methodology including SCRUM. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience in the development industry. 5+ years of web content management system experience working with one or more CMS packages, including Adobe Experience Manager version 6.0 or above (version 6.5 a plus). Web portal back-end development experience. Strong Java/J2EE/JSP experience – minimum of 5 years developing large system applications. Working knowledge and understanding of the following: JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS. Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines. PREFERRED SKILLS & TECHNOLOGIES: AEM Developer or Architect certification. Additional technical certifications a plus.
