Pay Range $129,030 - $160,188 Annual (J01.4) This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (MC&A) project has an opening for a Group Leader position. The successful candidate will assure the MC&A program is functional and that system components provide the greatest effectiveness to detect, deter and respond to unauthorized use or removal of accountable nuclear material from authorized locations. You will Represent management in daily matters to gather, clarify, and disseminate information, coordinate activities, and assist with special projects. Prepare responses for Livermore Field Office and LLNL senior management team queries. Develop and implement formal policies, practices, plans, actions, and documentation for implementing disciplined and structured operations that support requirements and promote mission success. Ensure assigned personnel have timely and proper understanding of policies, procedures, and equipment to perform duties and complete directives. Manage and oversee assurance and performance testing programs for MC&A. Foster partnerships with counterparts that align strategic goals, facilitate an understanding of applicable security requirements and support innovative solutions to complex problems. Direct, supervise and mentor staff. Provide technical direction, operational guidance, prepare performance appraisals, provide career development, and handle other personnel management actions. Oversee, participate, and coordinate activities for internal self-assessments and in response to internal and external audits and inventories. Review, approve and ensure appropriate MC&A training compliance requirements are met for staff and laboratory personnel performing MC&A duties. Ensure LLNL's classified Lawrence Livermore Nuclear Material Administrative System (LLNMAS), containing information on nuclear material and certain other controlled materials, integrity and accuracy of data and functional capability of the system is current and meets all standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Active DOE Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another United States government agency at the time of hire. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a security discipline or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively present, direct, negotiate, influence and coordinate with all levels of management and personnel across the Laboratory, National Nuclear Security Administration, the DOE Complex and other government agencies. Advanced skills in developing and writing clear and concise policies, procedures, reports, and other correspondence. Significant skills to anticipate needs, report and recommend solutions and develop and execute programs, policies, and other measures to ensure compliance with pertinent security directives. Advanced leadership skills to focus a team on mission accomplishments. Ability to manage a diverse group of staff. Qualifications We Desire Advanced knowledge and experience of LLNMAS; analysis and implementation of nuclear material accounting. Additional Information
