Job Overview – Cost Accountant (Temporary):
Join our client's team in Los Angeles, CA, as a Cost Accountant, playing a key role in managing and analyzing the financial aspects of food manufacturing processes. In this temporary role, reporting to the plant controller, you’ll focus on accurate cost reporting, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
Compensation:
$25 - $30/hour Location:
Los Angeles, CA Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office) Responsibilities as the Cost Accountant (Temporary):
Cost Management:
Maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead, analyzing production costs and conducting variance analysis to identify and address discrepancies. Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare cost reports, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and provide actionable insights to enhance cost efficiency. Inventory Oversight:
Lead inventory cycle counts and audits, manage inventory transactions at the plant and 3PL, and ensure daily production postings are accurate. Budgeting & Forecasting:
Contribute to annual budget preparation, periodic forecasts, and manufacturing variance analysis. Collaboration:
Work with production and supply chain teams to resolve cost-related issues and support new product development initiatives. Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and perform balance sheet reconciliations. Qualifications for the Cost Accountant (Temporary):
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience:
At least 3 years of Cost Accounting experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities, with proven success working independently and collaboratively. Technical Proficiency:
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or JDE); familiarity with GAAP standards is required. Attributes:
Strong understanding of operational excellence principles and a track record of identifying trends and implementing efficiency improvements. Application Notice:
