Mercer Global Investments Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investments Data Analyst to join our Global Investments Technology team at Mercer in the Boston office. This role will primarily focus on analysis of data and data related requirements in support of the implementation of our large technology programs. What is in it for you? We will count on you to: Perform data analysis related activities in support of our transformation initiatives and technology programs. Work closely in region with business stakeholders and the data management team to understand how local requirements can map into our broader global solution. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Work with peers in the transformation program to align on designing global solutions and minimize regional differences to only the case where they are truly required. Collaborate with investment teams and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop data solutions that meet business needs. Assist in the design of data models and structures to support investment data analysis and reporting. Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse/lake platforms. Utilize cloud-based data technologies, such as AWS data technologies (e.g. Athena), Databricks, and Snowflake, to optimize data storage, processing, and analysis. Ensure data quality and integrity by assisting in the implementation of data validation and cleansing processes. Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce data management policies and standards. Assist in the development and implementation of metadata management strategies and tools (e.g. Informatica Axon/EDC). Support the development of our testing strategy around data and its execution. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in investment technology, data management, data governance, and the use of data in AI. What you need to have: 8+ years in investment management/analyst type positions either in an investment manager or similar firm or FinTech servicing such asset managers as clients. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Finance, or Data Analytics. Strong knowledge and experience in investment management domain, including investment products, asset classes, and investment strategies. Knowledge of the OCIO business is a strong plus. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases. Experience with cloud-based data warehouse/lake platforms, such as AWS data technologies, Databricks, and Snowflake. Familiarity with metadata management and data governance tools such as Informatica Axon/EDC. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in global projects that span across regions. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Professional certifications in relevant areas (e.g., CFA) are a plus. Broad experience with portfolio and order management systems (e.g. Factset, CRD/State Street Alpha), Investment data warehouse solutions (e.g. Eagle), modern cloud-based data warehouses/lakes technology, BI tools, investor client reporting systems and client-facing systems a strong plus. Knowledge of BI tools (e.g. Qlik) a strong plus and designing data solutions for ease of use by BI platforms to enable data self-service is a strong plus. Experience in projects that involved the use of AI is a plus. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
