U.S. – San Jose, CA Description This position is responsible for applications of new power/management devices with a focus on High Voltage/High Power Hot Swap Controllers, supporting product development and promotion activities. More specifically, the candidate needs to contribute in the following areas: Support customer applications and products development for Cloud and Data Center and Telecommunication Power markets with a focus on Hot Swap Applications, but including Isolated Power Conversion, Multiphase Controllers, PoL, etc. Direct contact with customers and our field application engineering staff for creating design solutions and troubleshooting system design problems. Create new part application road test plan, evaluate and generate road test report, data analysis, and test summary. Write product datasheet with applications section, applications notes, design articles and demo board manuals with all text, graphs and diagrams. Provide recommendations on new hot swap product features, also on power supply topology, control algorithm and feature set for the new products, to meet customer needs and differentiate Analog Devices from competitors. Key requirements include: MSEE preferred. 6+ years or equivalent experience with system level power management products and application. Strong knowledge of high voltage/high power hot swap requirements, high performance isolated and non-isolated DC/DC converters in Cloud and Data center market. Strong communications skills and open to travel as necessary. Strong lab test and measurement skills. Strong writing, technical drawing and verbal communications skills for writing product datasheets, documenting lab reports and creating product application notes. Proficient with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, spectrum/network analyzers and other common lab instruments and software (Python, LabView). Experience with high voltage/high power Lab Safety measures, testing and discipline. Strong knowledge of printed circuit board layout design, fabrication, electrical characteristics as well as electronic assembly practices. Proficient in writing professional technical documents and datasheets and creating technical drawings using MS Word and Visio. For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
