Senior Partner Engineer II

Your Impact
Contribute towards scaling Axon’s Firmware Infrastructure by being the point person to manage Axon’s Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM) on next-generation products. This is a new, hybrid, role-type for the Axon Platform Firmware team that is critical for Axon to meet its 10-year moonshot to reduce deaths between the police and public by 50% in 10 years.
As a Senior Partner Engineer II, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the Firmware Artifacts output by the JDM meets Axon’s Engineering Bar, assimilates into Axon’s repositories smoothly, integrates with any additional Contract Manufacturing (CM) and/or Local HQ Manufacturing, meets the requirements and needs of adjacent Engineering Teams and ensures timely delivery adherent to schedule. You have the obsession to ensure that the Firmware Artifacts are of the highest quality possible.
This role is primarily focused on the commercialization of 2 orthogonal, multi-year, Brand New IoT Product-lines that are strategically optimized to be resourced jointly with Axon and JDM vendors in Asia-Pacific (APAC). It is a hybridization of an (a) Firmware Engineer, (b) Release Manager, (c) Technical Project Manager, (d) Dev-ops Engineer - and of course, Quality Assurance (QA) is implied in everything we do. This critical role sits in the Axon Platform Firmware Team and reports directly to the Director of Engineering. The role will “connect the dots” to ensure that the Axon Platform Firmware Mechanisms and Expectations are reciprocated through the JDM vendors.
Firmware development environments primarily include a combination of Embedded Linux and Embedded Android, and custom Automated Test Systems (ATS). What You’ll Do
