The Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University is looking for Biostatistician 2. About the Position: The Biostatistician 2 will consult with investigators to refine research questions, define hypotheses, design studies, and devise analysis plans. Work with senior statistician(s) to implement analysis plans and publish findings. Present results orally to clinical investigators and provide guidance on design and analysis issues. Duties include: Design study. Develop and implement protocol for quality control. Help develop funding applications and research protocols. Perform sample size/power calculations. Author statistical analysis plans. Create analytic files with detailed documentation. Implement data analysis through statistical programming. Present results for investigators using graphs and tables. Summarize findings orally and in written form. Participate in the preparation of papers for publication. Consult with investigators on appropriate statistical approaches to data analyses. Mentor collaborators in areas of experimental design, quality control, and statistical analysis. Oversee lower-level staff on issues related to quality control and creation of analysis files. Comply with all institute policies and SOPs as well as regulatory requirements for programming, analysis and reporting of research projects. Desired Qualifications: Strong background in machine learning, biostatistics, and bioinformatics. Experience with analysis of sequencing data. Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience performing biostatistical analyses, including categorical, longitudinal, and survival data; SAS, STATA, and/or R programming. Education & Experience (Required): Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related field and at least 3 years of experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required): Proficient in at least two of R, SAS, SPSS, or STATA. Outstanding ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Physical Requirements: Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, seated work, and use light/fine grasping. Working Conditions: May work extended or non-standard hours based on project or business cycle needs. This position will be hybrid. The expected pay range for this position is $112,292 to $132,108 per annum. At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
