Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is looking for a Senior Underwriter Energy Property to develop the portfolio of Power & Utilities, Oil and Gas Downstream and Midstream, Petrochemicals, and Mining within this Region.
About the Role
: The role involves underwriting Energy accounts, managing broker and client relationships, and engaging with internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include: Growing the business and maintaining strong client and broker relationships. Analyzing coverage, exposures, wordings, premiums, and insurability of energy risks (oil & gas facilities, petrochemicals, pipelines, mines, power plants). Developing strategic relationships with brokers and clients to ensure proper documentation and grow the business. Coordinating cross-selling opportunities within Corporate Solutions. Participating in special projects and contributing to team operations. Ensuring thorough documentation and clear communication with clients and brokers. About the Team
: Our dynamic team of underwriters focused on Energy Property underwriting is based in Miami, Mexico City, and São Paulo, reviewing risks and contacting clients in Energy Onshore, Power and Utilities, as well as Mining across Latin America. About You
: Minimum of 8 years of experience in Property Energy Underwriting and a strong enjoyment of working within the Energy insurance market. Deep understanding of the main exposures and specificities inherent in each segment of property energy such as energy onshore, mining, and power and utilities, using strong analytical skills to evaluate complex situations and make underwriting decisions. Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Strong insurance/reinsurance knowledge and negotiation skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to assist others. Highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to turn customer needs into deals (both traditional and non-traditional/alternative solutions). This role will be located in our Miami, FL office. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average. This role will be unable to offer any assistance with relocation or visa sponsorship.
