The Role:
In this key leadership position, you'll oversee the implementation and management of our risk analysis and insurance programs. Your expertise will guide risk transfer strategies, contract reviews, and compliance efforts, ensuring we maintain the right balance of coverage while minimizing exposure. As an ambassador of our risk management philosophy, you will foster relationships with third-party brokers, insurers, and risk consultants, while working closely with internal stakeholders across various levels—from corporate offices to hotel ownership groups. Key Responsibilities: Risk Identification & Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to control and reduce company-wide risk. Partner with cross-functional teams to innovate and enhance risk reduction methods. Lead training sessions to ensure teams across corporate and regional levels understand risk costs and management practices. Provide leadership to the Insurable Risk Management team and manage responses to crises with risk implications. Prepare presentations for the Board, executive stakeholders, and insurers to keep them informed and engaged. Insurance Procurement: Collaborate with the VP of Risk Management to select and manage brokers and insurance carriers. Administer non-benefit-related insurance programs (property, casualty, cyber, management liability). Negotiate optimal insurance coverage, leveraging data to ensure the best terms and pricing. Manage insurance submissions, applications, and policy wording reviews to ensure accuracy and alignment with company goals. Mergers & Acquisitions: Conduct due diligence on target companies, identifying risks and exposure red flags. Integrate new companies into our insurance and risk programs seamlessly. Contractual Risk Transfer & Compliance: Set standards for contractual risk transfer across the company. Review and negotiate insurance terms in contracts, leases, and agreements. Ensure contract and insurance compliance, addressing non-compliance trends proactively. Qualifications: Required: 10+ years of experience in corporate risk management, insurance, or brokerage within complex organizations. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance/Risk Management, Law, Accounting, Finance, or related fields. Designations such as ARM, CRM, or CPCU are highly desirable.
