Customs Field Operations Specialist

in our

Chicago Facility . In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the completion of customs entry documentation into the customs database system on behalf of our customers. Key Responsibilities:

Documentation and Recordkeeping:

Prepare and review customs documentation, including import and export declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required customs paperwork. Maintain accurate records and ensure proper retention of customs-related documents. Customer Service:

Maintain a high level of customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on shipment status. Shipment Dispatch:

Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of shipments to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Shipment Monitoring and Issue Resolution:

Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively address any issues that may arise during transit. Recordkeeping and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including shipment details, delivery status, and customer interactions. Pre-Billing Process:

Review and verify shipment documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness before billing. Billing Collaboration:

Collaborate with the billing department to address any discrepancies or issues identified during the pre-billing process. Customs Clearance:

Coordinate and oversee customs clearance processes, including classification, valuation, and duty/tax determination. Compliance:

Ensure compliance with company policies, customs laws, regulations, and procedures. Communication and Collaboration:

Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in customs operations, customs brokerage, or trade compliance within the logistics or supply chain industry preferred. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
