Job Description:
L3Harris is looking for a Procurement Lead to join our team at our Jefferson Road Operations Center. In this role you will plan and implement activities related to the procurement of materials, goods and services in compliance with regulatory requirements. As a subject matter expert in Supply Chain, you will train and mentor junior employees, develop work instructions, and lead improvement projects. This position has the potential to expand into a management role with a team of 10+ reports.
Essential Functions:
Analyze and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to understand the procurement and manufacturing requirements.
Send RFQs to obtain quotes, examine bids, and make awards.
Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and/or services.
Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers.
Source and purchase direct materials necessary for operation of the organization.
Ensure supplier compliance via an internet supplier portal (eXpo PO tracking) and responsible for item part data attribute accuracy.
Participate and contribute to departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives.
Sustain success metrics (Delivery, Cost, Lead Time, Inventory, etc), incorporating best practices, and effectively communicating improvements.
Partner with Category Management to support implementation of strategic initiatives, as well as activities related to global sourcing, supplier selection, product delivery specifications, and quality.
Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Experience purchasing parts and/or services in a medium to high volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Government and Commercial Contracting/Subcontracting managing supplier performance in the areas of technical scope, schedule, and cost.
History of having direct reports and interest in future people management.
Engineering or Technical Background.
Experience engaging with suppliers and analyzing suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
MRP Experience, Agile configuration.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Cost analysis and negotiation experience.
Experience and understanding of product specifications, statements of work (SOW), and terms and conditions.
Advanced Excel skills including Pivot tables, macros, etc.
Global sourcing experience.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $84,000 - $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
