Would you like to join Apple’s growing wireless silicon development team? Our wireless SOC organization is responsible for all aspects of wireless silicon development, addressing challenges from complex usages, demanding performances, and reliabilities to enable emerging wireless applications and products. In this technical role, you will be at the center of our silicon design and bring-up group, responsible for the wireless system design of our innovative wireless SoC products.

Description

In this role, you will demonstrate strong analytical skills, innovative thinking, and fundamental knowledge to design creative algorithms, innovative architectures, and protocols. Core responsibilities include:

Design and simulate innovative wireless communication systems to enable emerging applications and wireless system products.

Implement system models and investigate innovative algorithms for performance enhancements.

Design methods/algorithms to alleviate RF/circuit impairments.

Define control procedures of physical layer hardware modules for optimal modem performance.

Collaborate with digital designers to realize methods with efficient digital implementations.

Test, characterize, and optimize real silicon in the lab.

Minimum Qualifications

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.

Extensive experience in designing and developing physical layer core algorithms.

Track record in applying innovative signal processing and communication theory techniques.

Deep understanding of communication theory and signal processing related algorithms.

Strong analytical capability to develop best-in-class solutions.

Proficiency in C/C++ and Matlab for algorithm development.

Knowledge of existing protocols: 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, etc.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

MS and PhD preferred.

Experience with low-power algorithm design.

Experience in modem architecture and hardware/software control.

Experience with High-Level Synthesis (HLS) and silicon prototyping.

Experience on bring-up of real silicon in lab.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders and receive comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses.
