We're looking for an engineer to help us shape the future direction of Safari technology on our platforms. Together, we’ll build on the industry-leading WebKit engine and Apple's frameworks to deliver a fluid browsing experience in Safari and powerful, easy-to-use APIs for developers through Universal Links, in-app browsing, and more. Your vision and impact will extend beyond Safari, as you help move Apple's iOS platform forward!
Description
In this role, you will help us craft new and innovative Safari features and take existing features to the next level. You’ll be involved from beginning to end—brainstorming, prototyping, coding, debugging, shipping, and addressing customer feedback. You will collaborate with the WebKit team, iOS application and framework teams, and Apple’s Human Interface group. We want you to be imaginative, highly motivated, and care deeply about craftsmanship and quality.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of Swift, Objective-C, or a C-family programming language
Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns
Understanding of memory management
Knowledge of power and performance considerations when designing client applications
Experience working on teams to deliver production software using modern version control and build tools
Key Qualifications
Ability to work with cross-functional partners in engineering as well as project management, design, and marketing
Experience communicating technical ideas to a variety of audiences
Experience mentoring other engineers
Experience driving cross-functional projects from inception to release
Experience designing APIs for frameworks used by a wide variety of developers
Creativity and enthusiasm for crafting great user experiences, innovative privacy features, and robust security
Knowledge of UIKit and Swift design patterns
Knowledge of Xcode developer tools and clang build systems
Knowledge of advanced application architectures
Knowledge of web browsers and web application architectures
Understanding of iOS architecture and ability to use developer tools to diagnose and fix complex memory and performance bugs

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
