Job Description - Clinical Research Coordinator I (3314695)
A full-time clinical research coordinator reporting directly to Dr. H. Diana Rosas is needed in the MIND clinical translational research program/Center for Neuroimaging of Aging and Neurodegenerative diseases, to work in a multidisciplinary group conducting clinical studies of aging, cognition, and neuroimaging in adults with Down syndrome at risk for Alzheimer disease and/or in Huntington’s disease. The incumbent is expected to work both independently and as a team member with other members of the team including investigators, staff, post-doctoral fellows, and students.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage clinical, basic science, and technology research studies within the laboratory.
Pre-screen healthy volunteers and patients, schedule and recruit participants, and evaluate study participants.
Assist in spreadsheet management, including maintaining appropriate protocols for data security, access, and quality assurance.
Coordinate study activities, including recruiting and scheduling participants, and setup for experimental sessions in the MRI scanner.
Monitor laboratory safety and coordinate regulatory and compliance activities.
Organize and set the agenda for weekly group laboratory meetings with the PI.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow lab standard operating procedures and execute them as standardized.
Assist with recruiting and retaining participants/patients for both observational and clinical trials.
Work with study subjects, including patient/caregiver interviews, neuropsychological testing, and assistance with obtaining vital signs.
Process biological samples and maintain accurate sample databases.
Document and compile clinical research data, schedule appointments, and maintain study databases.
Meet regularly with Principal Investigator(s) to discuss assignments and projects.
Attend training courses as needed and maintain certifications.
Prepare and present reports for meetings, grants, and manuscripts.
Organize and draft materials for research papers and presentations.
Maintain accurate and timely records and databases.
Use software programs to generate graphs and reports.
Conduct library searches and verify accuracy of study forms.
Assist with study regulatory submissions and write consent forms.

Flexibility and willingness to ask for help when needed.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required, with a field of study in neuroscience, psychology, or premedical science desirable.
EXPERIENCE:
New graduates with relevant course/project work or those without prior research experience will be considered for the Clinical Research Coordinator I position.
Those with a minimum of 1-2 years of directly related work experience will be considered for a Clinical Research Coordinator II position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
A Clinical Research Coordinator I does not have any supervisory responsibility.
A Clinical Research Coordinator II may assist with the training of new staff members.
