An Enterprise AI Security Architect is essential for safeguarding an organization's artificial intelligence systems. This role involves creating, implementing, and managing robust security frameworks specifically designed for AI applications and machine learning operations on hybrid multi-cloud platforms and technologies. The security architect fosters AI security within the organization by collaborating with cross-functional teams that include AI architects, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and business stakeholders. They are tasked with executing comprehensive information security, IT risk management processes, and establishing automated capabilities to support reliable AI practices. Additionally, the AI Security Architect will oversee supporting, designing, and planning a secure AI strategy encompassing governance, policies, tools, secure patterns, and procedures across a multi-cloud environment. By working together with cross-functional teams and stakeholders within the enterprise, the architect ensures that AI development and utilization adhere to industry standards and evolve in response to changing guidance and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Design and Architecture:
Lead AI working groups to develop cybersecurity processes that improve the enterprise's ability to create and implement secure AI solutions, considering business, technological, and threat factors.
Design cybersecurity architectures for AI and ML projects that align with broader cybersecurity strategies.
Establish security controls to protect AI data pipelines and ML models from data leaks, tampering, and unauthorized access.
Maintain security architecture assets like models, templates, standards, and procedures to strengthen security capabilities in projects and operations.
Risk Management:
Conduct risk and threat modeling assessments for AI systems to identify potential security vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
Stay updated on developments in the digital business and AI threat landscapes to modify cybersecurity strategies and architectural designs accordingly.
Design and evaluate AI security assessment tools for effectiveness in identifying AI vulnerabilities and offer technical guidance for Lines of business (LOB’s) Dev/Sec/Ops maintenance.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure AI systems adhere to relevant and international data protection and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Implement security standards and frameworks like CIS Benchmarks, NIST AI RMF, and ISO to AI projects.
Ensure adherence to pertinent security regulations and compliance standards, such as HIPAA, HITRUST, and PCI DSS.
Draft and manage cybersecurity procedures and standards that align with organizational policies.
Strategic Security Planning:
Lead efforts to integrate AI capabilities within security organizations to enhance existing security platforms and processes.
Develop security strategy plans and roadmaps grounded in robust enterprise architecture practices.
Work with AI architects and developers to incorporate security practices into the AI development lifecycle.
Advise on best practices for AI security, including secure coding practices, encryption techniques, and access control.
Ensure compliance with the company's responsible AI framework.
Vendor and Technology Assessments:
Evaluate the security aspects of external vendors, especially those handling sensitive or regulated data, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
Review new security technologies, tools, and services, making recommendations based on security, financial, and operational metrics.
Evaluate the strategic alignment and suitability of our current tools to ensure we are maximizing value from our existing assets and ongoing partnerships.
Education and Awareness:
Collaborate with our larger Security organization developing and coordinating security awareness programs to integrate AI security risks and mitigation strategies into existing training programs.
