Intuit is looking for an academically strong and highly motivated graduate student to serve as an intern on the Public Affairs team as part of the Global Corporate Affairs and Public Policy (GCAPP) Department. GCAPP supports numerous areas, including Government Relations and Political Affairs, Philanthropy, Stakeholder Engagement, Public Affairs, Global Public Policy, and Tax Expertise. The group is involved in many issues including tax, privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence, financial services, and small business for Intuit and its global operations. This intern will work under the supervision of a Sr. Global Public Affairs Manager.
The objective of the internship is to provide the intern with practical, hands-on, cross-functional experience of a Corporate Affairs operation, with a focus in Public Affairs. The intern will have an assigned supervisor to learn the practical aspects of navigating successfully in a fast-paced, global in-house company, supporting the company’s public policy objectives in global, federal, and state markets. We are seeking a creative thinker who is passionate about the public policy outcomes that can help us improve the financial goals of our customers.

Responsibilities
Proposed projects include, but are not limited to: Draft strategy memos through research and analysis on emerging public policy trends/emerging issues (especially related to small business and AI) that could impact Intuit. Strengthen and support paid and earned media campaigns and strategies that build Intuit brand awareness, highlight public policy priorities of the company’s customers, engage key audiences, and effectively reach key opinion leaders. Work with external creative and PR agencies to establish research-driven goals and actionable insights to drive measurable impact by market. Maintain and refresh content for Intuit Global Corporate Affairs web properties to help feed into paid media campaigns. Develop content for GCAPP internal newsletter emails and manage newsletter sends and performance. Infuse creative thinking to help drive greater integration across GCAPP and across Brand, Marketing, and Corporate Communications teams. Analyze proposed legislation and impact to Intuit. For example, summarize and analyze privacy bills compared to our privacy priorities. Participate on other GCAPP-related key priorities and special projects. Qualifications
The candidate should have the following: Academically strong and highly motivated public policy graduate student with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, collaboration skills, project management, and attention to detail. Ability to partner with cross-functional teams for projects. Ability to focus on details, yet able to see the big picture. Ability and interest in learning new processes and discovering and advocating improvements for procedures. Technology proficient. Collaborative mindset and sense of humor. Preferred, but not required: Experience in the technology sector. Demonstrated interest in Public Affairs or Corporate Affairs work, especially for an in-house for a technology company. Experience with digital marketing campaigns and/or press and media communications; bonus if within the Public Affairs or policy space. Experience in Google Suite and communicating through Slack. Experience using Mailchimp to draft and send emails.
