The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools, and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements. Responsible for execution of procurement activities and strategies, ensuring Global Buying Policy compliance, and serving as GSM support for all levels of corporate functioning staff based out of Charlotte, NC Headquarters under Corning’s Optical Communications business. Manages supplier performance while continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to lower total cost of ownership and mitigate risk. Key Responsibilities

Manages sourcing needs for corporate functions like executive leadership, marketing, commercial, market intelligence, engineering services, information technology, etc., driving strategy aligned with GSM and business objectives. Educates, champions, and ensures compliance with GSM procurement policies and processes, mitigating risk to Corning and utilizing the appropriate buying channels/processes to maximize value. Actively seeks improvement opportunities that optimize total cost of ownership, inventory, risk, service level, supply assurance, and/or internal processes. Leads negotiations, creates/manages contracts, and owns supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery of quality services/goods at the best value to Corning. Provides regional and global support as needed, including but not limited to GSM support for Corning’s Optical Fiber & Cable technology team based out of Hickory, NC. Supervises/manages personnel as assigned (e.g. procurement coordinators, buyers, interns, etc.) promoting a healthy work environment that empowers personnel to take ownership of their role and deliver meaningful results. Experiences/Education - Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field with MBA Preferred Demonstrated decision making, influencing, negotiation, and conflict management/problem solving skills and ability to drive results through others (inside the function and outside the function) Contracting (negotiation, writing, and management) Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail Global Business knowledge and cross-cultural agility Experience utilizing SAP or another comparable Enterprise Resource Planning tool to drive supply chain processes and/or reporting. Price/Cost or Should Cost analysis Experience across multiple businesses, division and/or technologies Experience with global manufacturing and business through work or project experience Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or APICs certifications CPSM, C.P.M., A.P.P., CPIM, CSCP, etc. This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $79,249.00-$108,968.00 assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
