Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead our software development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack development, with expertise in front-end technologies, and a proven track record of leading teams of 10 or more engineers. This is a critical role within our organization, as we are making strategic investments in our technology infrastructure to enhance our products and services. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Be both highly technical and an effective people manager managing multiple scrum teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Strategize & plan collaborating with design, technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs, then translating them into engaging, simple, and intuitive design solutions and understandable concepts that evolve and enhance the product interface and experience. Lead the portfolio prioritization along with design teams to help set the strategy and product road map for the team. Discovering & delivering early product definition by working with the design team to facilitate discovery sessions that uncover customer pain points and opportunities. Planning and facilitating collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs. Own the development and maintenance of various software applications critical to our business, including internal & customer facing tools. Closely collaborate with design teams in designing within existing and creating new standards, tools & technology to contribute to our internal design systems, best practices, and guidelines. Manage through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definition. Partnering with the design team on championing prioritization of design centered product enhancements. Leading & Developing Teams through career development by mentoring, coaching, and elevating them. Navigating conflict resolution within your team as well as within projects, teams and partner relationships. Demonstrating familiarity with design tools & technologies to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teams. Set clear goals and objectives for the team, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to ensure individual and team success. Drive recruitment efforts to attract top engineering talent, and contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive team. Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our software solutions, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security. Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, testing methodologies, and deployment processes. Continuously evaluate and improve our development processes, tools, and technologies to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality. Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices within the engineering team to streamline development and deployment workflows. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and vice versa. Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software engineering, and make recommendations for technology adoption and innovation. Foster a culture of learning and professional development within the engineering team, providing opportunities for skill-building, training, and knowledge sharing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams 8+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack development At least 2+ years experience working with ASP.NET MVC with past experience migrating to modern FE stack Strong expertise in leveraging product analytics platforms such as Segment, Amplitude, Braze etc to drive product innovation Past experience with A/B testing and feature flagging to drive rapid FE iteration leveraging data Experience leading and managing multiple agile teams or more software engineers in an Agile environment Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Experience with cloud technologies (e.g AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture is a plus Desired Skills: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Cool Things to Know: Not Just Any Company:
