As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for release management operations and deployments.
Description
As a Release Manager, you are both a technical and functional expert in the area of releases. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering teams, project managers, and quality teams to facilitate smooth execution of releases. You will be responsible for managing release risks and challenges and improving release processes while working towards successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Support release management operations and deployments, working directly with engineering managers and cross-functional project teams.
Lead all aspects of release management including timelines, resource allocation, scope, and delivery.
Lead multiple cross-functional releases in parallel.
Identify inter-dependencies between the various teams to ensure all are aligned and risks are identified, mitigated, and communicated.
Navigate and execute in an environment of ambiguity and lead teams to the successful delivery of releases to all pre-production and production environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Self-starter with 5+ years of strong experience in release management with a primary focus on software development.
Solid project management, organizational skills, technical competence, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through deadlines/projects simultaneously under minimal supervision.
Proven track record to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across various business units.
Ability to look for process improvements and automation in the area of release management.
Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Effective analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills coupled with good business insight.
Outstanding presentation, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization including external partners.
Effective multitasking skills to manage multiple releases concurrently that are in different states.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience is highly desirable.
Exposure to CI/CD methodology and practices would be a plus.
Fundamental understanding of project management practices.
Pay & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
