Job Overview – Staff Accountant (Real Estate):
Our client in Boston, MA, seeks a Staff Accountant in Real Estate to support financial reporting and analysis for properties and profit centers. This hybrid role collaborates with partners and internal teams to maintain accurate reporting, cash flow, and compliance with standards.
Compensation:
$75,000 - $85,000/year + bonus Location:
Boston, MA Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant (Real Estate): Financial Oversight:
Oversee property accounting, review financials, perform analyses, and ensure accuracy in joint venture general ledger entries. Cash Management:
Manage cash contributions, distributions, journal entries, and fund-level cash activity, coordinating with treasury for fund transfers. Coordination:
Work with joint venture partners on multifamily developments, coordinating capital calls, draws, and monthly activity reviews. Financial Statements:
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, compliance entries, and year-end adjustments for accurate financial statements. Filings:
Ensure timely filing of personal property taxes, business licenses, and sales taxes, as well as maintaining property tax payments. Relations:
Prepare quarterly and special reporting for investors, assist with acquisition and disposition entries, and meet lender requirements for debt compliance. Qualifications for the Staff Accountant (Real Estate): Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Experience:
1-3 years of experience in Real Estate Accounting required (property management and joint venture structures preferred). Technical Skills:
Proficient in Yardi and advanced Excel, with experience in financial reporting and variance analysis. Skills:
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Attributes:
Highly organized, proactive, and a team player with excellent communication skills for collaboration across departments. Application Notice:
