About the Role: The Controller will play an important role within our client’s leadership team, partnering directly with the CFO. This role will lead the Construction Accounting Department and is responsible for day-to-day details of accounting operations and financial reporting for all current projects.
Essential Functions: Oversee work of construction accounting department including billing, AP, job costing, and general ledger work Responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting including monthly internal reporting and quarterly external reporting Responsible for maintenance of financial projections including revenue and operating expenses Treasury management Oversee work in progress tracking and reporting Work closely with project management on project cost reporting and cash flow projections Responsible for development and adherence to internal controls and accounting policies Collaborate with Operations Team to drive strategic initiatives Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, Advanced degree/CPA license preferred 8-15 years of construction accounting experience Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel Ability to take ownership of projects with high quality results Required understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including revenue recognition, project costing, and job costing.
