Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Senior Accountant for an Established Ag Retailer. As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for managing the entire fixed asset process including recording new acquisitions and capital projects, tracking existing assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of assets. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing personal and real estate property taxes and allocating insurance expenses.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and/or two to four years equivalent experience required. Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities. Employ fundamental accounting skills: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations. To consistently meet internal and external deadlines. Strong competencies in computer applications including Microsoft products. Manages a variety of responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. Follows through with commitments and can be counted on to meet deadlines. Always maintains a positive attitude. Actively looks for ways to help customers. Works well with others to achieve a common goal. Completes work in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy. Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority. Responsibilities: Creates, monitors, and improves systems of controls, procedures, data, and forms to efficiently record fixed assets. Consults with management on accounting considerations during preplanning, construction, and completion stages on new capital projects. Prepares reports informing management of incurred costs on current projects in relationship to its approved budget. Reconciles the Construction in Progress account. Calculates, reviews, and updates a detailed schedule of fixed assets and the accumulated depreciation. Records fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in both the accounting system and fixed asset software. Assists in estimating future depreciation and prepare related files for forecasting purposes. Prepares annual property tax forms, reconcile and make payments, and reviews new valuations for accuracy. Assists in preparing information for internal and external auditors. Records prepaid insurance payments and allocates expenses to locations monthly. Other duties as assigned.
