Economist- Manager- Quantitative Economics & Statistics The EY Quantitative Economics and Statistics (QUEST) practice is an interdisciplinary team that brings together more than 50 economists, statisticians, and business analysts, many with deep industry and government experience. Our team has developed proprietary tools and a data-driven approach based on a deep understanding of economic and tax data from a wide range of sources. We model economic impacts, legislative changes, regulatory impacts, tax policy, climate policy, and conduct surveys. EY’s QUEST practice is seeking a Senior Economist to join our team of economists and statisticians in Washington, D.C. Your key responsibilities Quantitatively analyze and model economic, tax, and regulatory policies Understand academic papers in the field of economics and incorporate their results and methodologies into your work Identify, collect, and analyze relevant data for economic modeling using Excel and coding languages such as STATA, R, or Python Write and edit reports that translate technical quantitative analyses to broad audiences such as members of legislators, the media, and other participants in policy discussions Craft dynamic data visualizations that highlight key insights from quantitative analysis Manage 3-5 projects for clients at the same time and provide oversight over staff and senior analyst work Craft proposals and assist in winning projects Qualifications Master's or Ph.D. in public policy / economics or other quantitative discipline A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a related position Familiarity with policy-related economic analysis; tax policy experience preferred Excellent analytical skills and the ability to apply quantitative methods in a business environment Interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork and the ability to direct the work of other team members Strong written and visual communication skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a team environment and meet deadlines Strong technical skills in data processing using both Microsoft Excel (e.g., advanced Excel formulas) and coding languages such as STATA, R, and Python Prior experience with State & Local Tax is a plus What we look for You have an agile, growth-oriented mindset. What we offer We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $128,200 to $235,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $153,900 to $267,100. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
