Under the direction of the CFO, this position participates in all financial and fiscal management aspects of the hospital. Provides leadership and coordination in the financial, business accounting, information technology, and budgeting efforts of the hospital. JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist in coding and entry of financial information in Hospital’s computerized financial system in compliance with industry standards and guidelines. Assist in preparation of financial reports, including internal financial reports and reports sent to outside organizations and government agencies. Assist with financial audit, including preparation of information for auditors, reviewing auditor’s work and responding to any auditor recommendations or deficiencies. Monitor and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. Assist in internal auditing of revenues and expenditures, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial information. Assist with development and monitoring of pricing strategies and revenue recognition. Assist in preparation of financial pro forma of proposed new services, special financial analyses, and informational reports as needed. Assist in creating, coordinating, and evaluating the financial performance of programs and services. Oversee review of departmental budgets, position control and account maintenance. Oversee grant accounting, including internal monitoring and required reporting. Assist in preparation of detailed hospital and departmental budgets to include operating budget, capital budget and cash flow budget. Interact with directors and managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. Participate in new or updates to EMR and other computer systems, to include logging SRs as appropriate. Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weaknesses. Implement and monitor short– and long–range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Continually research and stay up to date on Healthcare finance regulations and change, including but not limited to, compliance, reimbursement, accounting, and payer policies. Perform all other tasks as assigned by the CFO. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; CPA preferred. Work Experience:

Minimum of five years in a management accounting or auditing position desired, preferably in a healthcare setting. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles and hospital reimbursement. Ability to analyze financial and statistical data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Must have professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must have organizational skills to set priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure. Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Must possess critical thinking skills, analytical ability, work cooperatively with others and have a positive, willing attitude. Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced dynamic, and growing environment. Work Environment:

Normal office setting. Must be familiar with general office equipment and procedures, including desktop computers, office software, copy machine, etc., and with facility-wide computer systems. OSHA EXPOSURE CATEGORY C:
