South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks to establish a pool of highly motivated and qualified candidates as part-time or Adjunct Nursing Professors. Successful applicants will engage with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to create a community of learners while seeking opportunities for teaching and learning excellence. Adjunct Nursing Professors will work with other faculty, staff, and administrators to: Create and facilitate contextualized and integrated learning experiences in relation to identified college pathways linked to nursing career goals. Develop authentic assessments of student knowledge, skills, and abilities in nursing. Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote various domains of learning. Support students in and out of the classroom. Be available to teach classes on a variety of days and times. Select clients for students to work with before they arrive for the clinical day. Effectively communicate strengths and opportunities for student growth. Implement curriculum as designed and approved; provide feedback to faculty regarding implementation of curriculum. Proctor examinations and other assessments as identified in the syllabus. Continue to uphold obligations as an RN to support client and public safety in the clinical setting. Demonstrate multicultural competence and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Support the college’s mission by creating a work environment of mutual respect and fairness. Qualifications You Possess
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree with a major in nursing or a baccalaureate degree in nursing with graduate degree work in a related field. Three years of professional experience in nursing. An active, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State. Successful completion of a criminal history background check prior to employment. Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds. Experience as a mentor, preceptor, clinical instructor, adjunct faculty, or other role of responsibility with pre-licensure nursing students. To Apply
