The Program Director provides leadership and support in the implementation and ongoing evaluation of an MA-Clinical Psychology program aimed at preparing students to practice under a limited license in the State of Michigan. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree from an accredited psychology program and be licensed in the state of Michigan, demonstrate experience working with a diverse faculty, staff, student and client/patient environment, and be committed to supporting evidence-based approaches to assessment, therapy, teaching and supervision. The Program Director should display exceptional competence in the field, strong leadership, organization, time management abilities and self-motivation. Administrative and/or management experience in an academic setting is preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Guide the strategic vision which includes setting, reviewing and revising the foundational groundwork for the MA-clinical Psychology program and ensuring its alignment to APA standards. Maintain professional presence and engage in scholarship. Recruit and manage faculty and engage in ongoing evaluation of program and student outcomes. Course assignments in the planned graduate curricula will vary based on the candidate's expertise and needs of the programs. Teach 9 credits per year. Promote an inclusive Rochester through demonstration of our Statement. Participate in developmental activities to increase understanding and awareness of issues related to equity and diversity, both individually and as they relate to the field of work, profession or discipline. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Demonstrates excellence in teaching and higher education practices. Demonstrates excellence in applied clinical psychology. Participates willingly in the development of creative and innovative solutions in the classroom as well as in applied settings. Knowledge and skill in teaching diverse learners, and ability to use current technology. Good oral/written communication skills. Ability to demonstrate consideration of others, and to deal effectively and fairly with a variety of individuals in a courteous manner. Ability to manage time independently and to collaborate with campus partners. Ability to develop engaging classroom activities, communicate expectations with markers of student success, and monitor students’ progress. Ability to clearly and effectively present ideas and compose/deliver presentations. Ability to keep up-to-date on departmental and university policies, procedures, and practices in order to provide accurate information or assistance to students, staff, and faculty in a timely manner. Ability to assess student learning of both institutional and program level outcomes. Supportive of the University mission.
