SUMMARY OF WORK:

The HR Director provides guidance to management and team members on Human Resource related issues, including but not limited to team member engagement, team member relations, performance and talent management, training, policy application, organizational development, workforce planning, and compensation. As an HR Director, you will develop integrated solutions and be a change agent and champion for new HR initiatives and programs.

The responsibilities include:

Serves as a strategic partner to agency leadership and is responsible for setting the HR strategy and programs to advance agency objectives. Leads the implementation of the HR strategy for DEQ and coordinates with the HR Communities of Practice (CoP). Assesses data, interprets information, and presents insights and recommendations on HR related issues and programs. Coaches managers and leaders to facilitate organizational change. Collaborates with agency leadership to interpret business needs and resource priorities. Contributes to the design and/or integration of the holistic organizational plan (i.e., talent, structure, culture, process) for the agency. Partners with agency leadership to monitor, execute, and continue to evolve the design. Identifies the needs for change and leads the implementation and adaption to new or changing structures for the agency. Formulates partnerships across the state's HR team, HRMS and CoPs to deliver value added service and HR programs to DEQ leadership and team members. Leverages engagement solutions for culture, talent management, team member, leader, and manager excellence, and learning and development. Collaborates with DEQ leadership to address legislative needs by providing HR expertise, information, and testimony as requested or appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. DEQ will not provide sponsorships.

To be considered for the Director of Human Resources you must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' Human Resource experience; or a master's degree and 3 years of Human Resource experience.
