The Applications Engineer's primary responsibility is to focus their strong technical engineering and drafting skills on mapping customer requested product for development. This includes mapping product specifications including the Bill of Material, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain a proficient level of Royal Switchgear product knowledge and application. Effectively communicate with channel partners, outside sales, customers, design engineering group and factory production personnel. Analyze and interpret customer requirements to provide accurate quotations to ensure profitable growth. Identify project, customer, and market details necessary for determining quotation strategies and competitive strengths and weaknesses. Complete Proposals using established product templates and electronic filing methods. Implement pricing guidelines as established by management. Identify opportunities to management when alternate pricing is needed. Review Customer Purchase Orders for conflicts between quotation and order prior to order entry. Generate order entry materials and clarify any special requirements. Participate in conference calls with sales team, channel partners, and customers as needed. Manage database of issued proposal statuses and competitive information. Assist in the creation of required marketing collateral. Support industry events such as trade shows, webinars, and other virtual events. Other duties and tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field from a 4-year college or university is strongly preferred. 5+ years of relevant business experience strongly preferred. Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Self-motivation, positive, adaptive, and success-seeking mentality. Timely and well-organized communicator. Comfortable with Microsoft Office. Experience with CRM systems, INFOR SyteLine is a plus. Power and/or electrical systems knowledge. Knowledge of industry standards specifications such as ANSI, IEEE, and IEC. Knowledge of the Electrical Utility and Renewables markets. Ability to read and interpret specifications, electrical drawings, symbols, and nomenclature is required. Comfort with software applications such as Work, Excel, PowerPoint and the creation of scripting and macros. Working Conditions
