Job Duties

The IT Project Manager enables superior Information Technology Services (ITS) delivery and service availability accross the VSU enterprise by mastering customer engagement, digital transformation, security, governance, and streamlining initiatives that continually administer to student success, academia, and the needs and desires of the TS lines of business.

The IT Project Manager provides project management expertise to carry out the University's IT Projects, from defining, planning, and delivering value upon completion.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED FOR ENTRY:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience planning and managing all sizes of technology projects.

- Three years of experience working on VITA-sanctioned projects.

- In-depth knowledge and experience in planning and executing large, phased technology rollouts using multiple PM methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).

- Collaborative IT professional who has led project teams through multiple enterprise-scale, complex technology initiatives and major process/change management initiatives with successful and tangible outcomes.

- Ability to manage teams, processes, and programs effectively.

- Transactional experience working with third-party vendors.

- Strong leadership, organizational, resolution management, and team-building skills. Ability to multitask.

- Proficient in project management tools.

- Well-organized and capable of simultaneously tracking, managing, and resolving issues on multiple projects.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.

- Strong business analytical skills.

Additional Considerations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- A master's degree is highly preferred, or a bachelor's degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience required in project management.

- 8-10 years of IT experience preferred.

- Experience working in a higher education setting is a major plus.

- Experience working on infrastructure and or security projects is a plus.
