Senior Web Developer

ROLE: Vimergy is a fast-growing VMS brand in the ecommerce space and we're looking for a top-notch Sr. Web Developer to join our team. As a key member of our ecommerce team, you'll play a crucial role in building out our ecommerce platform and driving growth. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Web Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our company's websites and web applications built on Shopify. Your expertise in web development and ability to create functional and visually appealing websites will contribute to our online presence and user experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer experience, web development, stays up to date with the latest industry trends, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: SKILLS: Web Development: Develop, test, and maintain responsive websites and web applications using modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js). UI/UX Implementation: Work closely with the design team to ensure a seamless user experience, translating designs and wireframes into fully functional and visually appealing web pages. Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure consistent look and feel across different browsers, platforms, and devices. Code Optimization: Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code, and adhere to best practices in web development. Collaboration: Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic and APIs. Version Control: Use Git and GitHub for version control and code collaboration. Performance Optimization: Ensure the web applications are optimized for speed and scalability, minimizing load times, and improving user experience. Testing & Debugging: Conduct regular testing, identify bugs, and implement solutions for a smooth user experience. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI): Code reviewed and passed in peer reviews with minimal changes or feedback required. Assigned features or tasks completed within the sprint or project deadlines. Direct impact on the usability and user-friendliness of the web application, often measured through user feedback or usability tests. Improvement in application performance metrics (e.g., load time, scalability, uptime) after code changes. Time taken to resolve critical bugs or incidents after they are identified in production. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Proven Experience: At least 5 years of experience in front-end web development. Strong understanding of Shopify ecosystem and how to manipulate code base. HTML/CSS: Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and pre-processors like SASS or LESS. JavaScript?: Proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ features, and experience with modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) .Responsive Design: Experience with responsive design and frameworks like Bootstrap or Material-UI .Version Control: Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows .Cross-Platform Development: Ability to build websites that are cross-browser and mobile-responsive .Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot issues effectively .Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with design, back-end, and other team members .Attention to Detail: Strong focus on design, quality, and user experience .

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer .Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds if needed .
