Weyerhaeuser Company in Fontana, CA has an immediate opening for an experienced Forklift Operator.
Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager, Operations Supervisor and designated Shift Leads, this position is responsible for all activities associated with the movement and handling of materials related to the wood products yard/warehouse.
This is a unionized site.
The hourly wage for this role is $20.00 - $22.00. This position may include overtime. Currently, the scheduled shift will be Monday-Friday from 5p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Key Functions : Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations. Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars Safely do your job to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others. Courage to intervene in any unsafe practices. Wear all personal protective equipment as required. Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying Accurately count units, record totals and document shipping and receiving activities Develop in depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement. This is not an inside warehouse position. This role will perform manual labor 55- 65% of the time.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum 2 years' experience working warehouse operations within the wood products/steel industry. Must be able to work outside in the elements five days a week and occasional Saturdays depending on business needs. Ability to work within a team to solve problems and complete tasks. Developing knowledge of building materials products, warehouse facilities and lift trucks Strong planning and organization skills. Strong computer skills: MS Outlook, SAP or other WMS. Be highly attentive and adaptive to workflows. Have excellent attendance. Forklift certification preferred however, we will train.
