About the Role
The Inside Solutions Account Manager is responsible for managing, protecting and growing the revenue within a territory of (Academic and/or Government) accounts through upsell and cross sell actions to existing accounts and engaging with new prospect clients within your territory. You will deliver a high daily frequency of customer interactions using phone, email and other virtual methods to generate demand, open up new accounts and drive overall territory revenue growth. You will act as the primary strategic account owner towards client and Elsevier stakeholders.
Responsibilities Meeting or exceeding monthly and annual sales goals. Identifying and targeting revenue growth opportunities within an assigned territory and set of accounts; develops and implements a detailed strategic sales plan to demonstrate how to maximize those revenue opportunities. Identifying key contacts and decision makers within a customer organization and develops strong relationships with those contacts in order to drive additional upsell and cross sell initiatives. Employing 60% of your time to engage with 'inactive' accounts within the territory and actively opens these accounts to drive additional revenue. Owning the relationships with the customer and is responsible for the overall health and status of the relationship and the negotiations of contracts. Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of Elsevier's Research Solution suite of products including the ability to articulate competitive differentiators and our value proposition. Requirements
Are a self-starter with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Have a BS/BA Degree or equivalent industry experience. Have 2+ years of proven commercial experience, in a business-to-business environment. Have proven success in negotiating contracts and closing business Have proven success in new business prospecting, selling, negotiating and closing skills Display excellent phone and written communication skills including the ability to present to an executive level audience. Experience in using an enterprise customer relationship management system is desirable Able to effectively partner and collaborate across teams. Work in a way that works for you
