Position:
Operations Manager/ Production Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager / Production Manager to lead and oversee the daily production operations at Black Duck. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and timeliness of our production processes, which include art, receiving, embroidery, screen printing, fulfillment, and shipping. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in improving manufacturing production efficiency, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supervising a team of 20 production employees.
Key Responsibilities: Production Oversight:
Manage and oversee the entire production process, ensuring that all operations from art to shipping run smoothly and efficiently. Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of 20 employees, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring optimal team performance. Process Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen is a significant advantage. Efficiency Optimization:
Analyze current workflows and implement strategies to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve turnaround times without compromising quality. Quality Control:
Ensure that all products meet our high-quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget. Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Collaborate with other departments, including sales, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless production and fulfillment processes. Employee Ownership Culture:
Promote the employee-ownership model by ensuring all team members are engaged and invested in the company's success. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Qualifications:
Proven experience in production management or operations management, preferably in screen printing, embroidery, or related manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of production processes, including receiving, embroidery, screen printing, fulfillment, and shipping. Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and optimizing production efficiency. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies (certification is a plus). Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team of diverse individuals. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on quality and efficiency. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
