Hourly Base Rate: $21.67 - $30.45
Shift: Day Shift
Hours Per Week: 40 hours/week

Job Summary: Integral part of the team. Works closely with the cardiologist to provide expert cardiac care. Escorts patients to rooms and assists in determining medical problems. Obtains pertinent medical records. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories and vital signs. Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and/or testing. Stocks supplies. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patients and family regarding medications, test results and treatment instructions which are provided by the physician. Assists in the referral process. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned. Educational/Licensing:
Graduation from an approved medical office assistant program. Certification as a MOA from the American Association of Medical Assistants required. BLS certification required. National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Qualifications:
Minimum of two to three years relevant experience. Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications. Skills in taking vital signs. Ability to react calmly and effectively with physicians, patients and co-workers. Must be flexible and a quick learner. Ability to multi-task and float to any position. Demonstrates the ability to navigate several computer applications. Ability to operate all technical office equipment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality in dealing with others, in person, electronically and on the telephone. Able to perform work accurately and within rigid time frames.
