Payrate: $21.35
Job Summary:
The Lead Packer will be responsible for orientation & training of new packers to the shift. They will be responsible for the development of the packers on their team including but not limited to certification & progress conversations. They will be able to provide back-up to the supervisors in supervisory actions related to packers. Other job responsibilities include assigning employees to lines, tracking attendance, assist in breaking packers for their breaks, ensuring all production lines have the necessary tools and equipment needed based on the packing specifications.
Responsibilities:
Production : Assign machine line responsibility to shift employees. Assigns and helps to give breaks (including lunch) throughout shift.
Responsible for picking, inspecting, and packing quality parts into boxes. Accurately counting parts to ensure that customers get a consistent, quality product. Bag counted parts, if not ran through an automated bagger, and placing into correct box on the assigned production line. Assure that each box is properly sealed to minimize the potential for damage.
With the guidance of the Supervisor, directs other packers. Participate in the training process of new packers; perform basic orientation on first day and assist in collecting training documentation. Backup the supervisor if they are absent by completing incident reports, production shift reports and documents, print Work Orders. Assist in conducting progress conversations with packers once a quarter (every 3 months). Ensure current packing specs are printed and at the line for the work order that is running. Own the process of Packer Certifications for the shift. Ensure all necessary boxes that are needed for production are staged and ready to use.
Reference packaging specs at the start of shift vs packaging being used.
Ensure that all production lines have proper date coding equipment to comply with date coding requirements (when applicable). Assign other tasks such as repack or hold product inspection, during line downtime episodes. Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Safety and Cleanliness:
Maintains a clean and safe work area, and participate in the resolution of the unsafe condition. Escalate any issues that cannot be resolved to the Operator and Supervisor for resolution. Maintains good housekeeping and makes sure production areas are kept clean throughout the shift. Adheres & reinforce all safety policies and procedures. Monitors, tracks, and facilitates quarterly cleaning. Quality:
Train & instruct other Packers on packing quality parts and identifying quality issues. Reports any quality problems immediately to the Operator. Qualifications:
Knowledge of how to perform basic quality checks in adherence to the control matrix and other quality systems. Must be fluent in production parts. Understanding of SPC, working knowledge of SAP. Ability to read the production schedule, look up box locations in SAP. Ability to use SAP for the following functions - box inventory lookup, finished goods confirmation, and production work order release. Strong communication & organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Understanding quality constraints for products, conforming vs non-conforming. Basic Excel knowledge. Conflict resolution Ability to read and interpret documents Ability to write routine repots and correspondence Schedule:
12 hours shift: from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm 2-2-3 work schedule With this schedule you will work only 15 days of the month!
