We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to join our team. The Data Architect will oversee the PoC and pilot phase of a data modernization project. This role involves conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current wealth management and wholesale banking data infrastructure, designing a scalable modern architecture, and providing strategic leadership to ensure alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, data management, and data quality, with a focus on establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks and policies. The individual will also act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with data governance standards and regulations. Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders to define data governance roles and responsibilities. Monitor and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Lead the assessment of existing data infrastructure, processes, and workflows. Develop a comprehensive design for a modern data architecture, including technology recommendations (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse). Collaborate with stakeholders to define success criteria for the PoC and pilot. Oversee integration of sample data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) into the proposed architecture. Ensure governance frameworks (e.g., metadata management, access control) are incorporated into the design. Document findings, proposed solutions, and step-by-step execution plans with timelines and resource requirements. Manage team activities and coordinate with other roles (Data Engineer and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer). Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data governance and data management.

Required Skills & Experience
12+ years of experience in data architecture, governance, data management, or a related role. Experience leading the assessment of existing data infrastructure, processes, and workflows. Experience developing a comprehensive design for a modern data architecture, including making technology recommendations for products like Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, etc. Familiarity with financial services industry requirements and regulatory compliance (e.g., SEC, FINRA, Dodd-Frank Act, and GDPR). Collaborate with stakeholders to define success criteria for the PoC and pilot. Ability to oversee the integration of sample data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) into the proposed architecture. Ability to ensure governance frameworks (e.g., metadata management, access control) are incorporated into the design. Experience documenting findings, proposing solutions, and creating a step-by-step execution plan with timelines and resource requirements. Ability to manage team activities and coordinate with other roles (Data Engineer and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer). Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices. Experience with data quality management and data stewardship. Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Data governance certification (e.g., DAMA, DCAM). Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation. Proficiency in BI tools like PowerBI or Tableau. Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
