Job Responsibilities
Manages database systems for the college on a daily basis by planning, organizing and controlling activities involving the college's database systems and related applications. Monitors and measures the performance of the databases; reports problems to the appropriate individuals. Helps to ensure maximum on-line availability of the database. Assists with recommendations for development and maintenance of database policies and standards.
Provides application development, testing, debugging, and documentation for computer programs as needed. Meets with customers to determine programming needs and database requirements. Provide quality assurance and testing. Assist with installing and testing Ellucian patches as needed.
Leads project teams which design, code, test, modify and document computer programs for the college. Utilize a variety of different programming tools to create computer programs. Meet with users to determine system requirements.
Assist users in creating reports from diverse data sources using industry standard tools such as Power BI and Microsoft SQL. Provide quality assurance and testing support as needed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
High school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field and three years' experience in systems development and maintenance and technical support of database management systems, or an equivalent associate degree and five years' experience. Additional Comments
