Accounting Manager
Our client, a fast-growing technology company, is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their dynamic finance team. This individual will play a key role in managing the month-end close process, overseeing a team of accountants, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for both domestic and international entities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in financial accounting, SOX compliance, and team leadership. This position is 100% remote, though candidates should be located in either New York City or Austin, TX.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.

This individual will play a key role in managing the month-end close process, overseeing a team of accountants, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for both domestic and international entities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in financial accounting, SOX compliance, and team leadership. This position is 100% remote, though candidates should be located in either New York City or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end close process, including the review and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and the work of other team members
- Focus on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of global marketing expenses
- Collaborate with global teams, service providers, and vendors to support company objectives
- Identify areas for process improvement and collaborate with leadership on execution
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and documentation
- Mentor and coach accounting team members
- Assist in quarterly and annual financial audits
- Work with international service providers to meet local filing deadlines
- Support special projects and other ad-hoc duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA (or equivalent) required
- 7 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a managerial role; public accounting experience required (Big 4 and/or public/private mix preferred)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance
- Experience with NetSuite
