**Summary**
**Job Description**
The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner with an interest in risk factors/lipids to join their Team.
As part of a highly productive cardiology group consisting of 30 physicians and 28 nurse practitioners, our General Cardiology nurse practitioner team rounds on the inpatient service and sees outpatients in the office setting.
This position will mostly see patients in our Lancaster office focused on risk factor/lipids.
Occasional travel to a satellite office may be required
Our nurse practitioners enjoy a collaborative practice with a high degree of autonomy.
NPs play an important role assisting in rounds, consults, and discharges at the hospital.
NPs also see our newly discharged patients in early follow up to assure that our patients are progressing with their treatment plan. By using our team-based approach to cardiology care, we have enjoyed a historic low in readmission rates.
HOURS:
This position is full time, primarily dayshift hours. The usual staffing shift is four 10-hour shifts per week. One weekend a quarter rotation either day or night shift.
Requires occasional evenings or nights, when those fulltime NPs take vacation.
**Job Requirements**
+ Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
+ Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
+ Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required - this position requires
**Adult/ Gerontology**
**Acute Care**
**Nurse Practitioner certification** .
+ Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
