Location: Grand County, Colorado (Kremmling, Granby, Fraser, Winter Park, Grand Lake, Walden) New Fraser Hospital Opening in May 2025

Position Overview: Middle Park Health (MPH) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team directly reporting to the CEO. As a Critical Access Hospital (CHA) with Level IV Trauma designation, MPH is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to the communities we serve in Grand and Jackson County, Colorado. With new hospital facilities slated to open in May 2025, we are seeking a strategic financial leader to guide our financial operations and ensure the long-term sustainability of our healthcare services across our rural network. MPH provides a range of services, in Kremmling, Granby, Fraser, Winter Park, Grand Lake, and Walden. We provide Emergency and Surgical services as well as rural health Specialty and Family Practice clinics, an Assisted Living Facility, Wellness Center, and Rehabilitation Services.

The CFO will play a critical role in shaping our financial future, helping us navigate the complexities of rural healthcare finance, and supporting our mission of providing excellent care in an expansive geographical area. This leadership role will offer a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on healthcare delivery in a growing community, all while working alongside a dedicated and collaborative team of healthcare professionals and administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership:

Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial planning for the healthcare system.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CHA and Level IV Trauma system requirements.

Operational Efficiency:

Identify and implement strategies to improve financial efficiency across MPH facilities, optimizing resource allocation while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Risk Management & Financial Sustainability:

Manage financial risks, including cash flow management, investment decisions, and insurance strategies, to ensure the long-term sustainability of the healthcare system.

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of healthcare finance, including reimbursement models, payer systems, and rural healthcare challenges.

Familiarity with CHA regulations and Level IV Trauma care funding and billing.

Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

Experience with capital project financing, particularly in healthcare construction and development.

Ability to work in a complex, multi-site healthcare system with a strong focus on operational efficiency and financial sustainability.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.

Requirements:

Education:

Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field.

MBA, CPA or other related advanced degree preferred.

A strong knowledge and understanding of financial operations as normally demonstrated through a minimum of three years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience.

Critical Access Hospital experience preferred.

Healthcare or Medicare financial experience preferred.

Capable of providing leadership which displays a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations. Can identify problems and suggest solutions through partnering with facility and community leaders.

Knowledge of Cost Reporting preferred.

Compensation:

From $180,000/yr + generous sign-on/relocation. This position qualifies for annual performance incentive.
