Role: Data Architect Work Location: Chicago, IL or Tempe, AZ Duration: 6+ Months Work Model: Hybrid - onsite 3 days per week

Project Overview: NT IT Metrics & Analytics is looking for a highly experienced Data Architect. As we evolve to the next level of dashboards and create a more cohesive and flexible user experience, we are looking for a data modeler to more quickly move us to our destination. The Data Architect will help create a foundational data model to underpin interactive PowerBI reports and dashboards that provide insights and help drive key business decisions for internal clients.

Contractor's Role: The Data Architect will work independently under the Product Manager to expand the common data model that is designed to ensure that metrics and other data are consistent across all dashboards. Ensure performance, security, and scalability.

Experience Level: Level 3 - [senior - 8+ years overall experience]

Must Have's: Extensive and exceptional data modelling and SQL skills with strong PowerBI development skills. Experience creating data models to support application development frameworks. Ability to derive data-driven application capabilities from code-driven application code. PowerBI experience with DAX Measure, Bookmarks, and Field parameters. Extensive SQL skills to support others and adapt models for various dashboards. 8-12 years of overall development experience. 3+ years of PowerBI Development demonstrating advanced skills. 10+ years of SQL experience modelling data and writing complex queries. Experience with GIT for version control. Expertise with ETL, data modeling, and complex SQL queries. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms. Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others). Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Haves: Object-Oriented Framework development. Experience with Azure (ADF, ADLS, Synapse). Experience with Collibra and/or other Data governance tools.

Tasks & Responsibilities: The Data Architect will work independently under the Product Manager to expand the common data model ensuring metrics and data consistency across all dashboards with proper performance, security, and scalability. Work closely with the Product Manager to develop and expand the core data model and its capabilities. Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to quickly learn and apply data schemas and metrics. Create, develop, and improve conceptual and logical data models. Implement relational data models and maintain a data dictionary. Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to ensure alignment of the model. Collaborate with BAs and PowerBI developers who will implement the model. Follow NT guidelines and best practices and help define design standards for enterprise data model development. Work proactively and independently to address requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce delivery risks.
