Mentor Technical Group - Sustainability Lead (Regulated Industry)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts Mentor Technical Group (MTG) provides a comprehensive portfolio of technical support and solutions for the FDA-regulated industry. As a world leader in life science engineering and technical solutions, MTG has the knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device safety and efficacy guidelines. Responsibilities: Lead and drive the implementation of sustainability initiatives to achieve cost savings. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement sustainability projects. Foster a proactive facility management culture through effective use of monitoring and diagnostic tools. Maintain an updated initiatives tracker, including savings type, estimates, and status. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sustainability metrics. Promote continuous improvement in sustainability practices across the organization. Support buildings and systems management operations in the most energy-efficient way. Complete Energy Management Checklist and periodic reports. Train all employees on Corporate Environmental Sustainability goals. Drive sustainability mindset in day-to-day work. Provide data feed required for external reporting. Report on sustainability program strategy, management, and performance. Properly escalate identified gaps and corporate team support needed. Prepare quarterly reports on trends, technology, and regulations. Pursue local/national certifications or awards for program recognition. Develop employee education materials and onsite engagement events. Support US DoE 50001 Readiness. Establish Energy Performance Indicators (EnPI) around significant energy users. Complete/update Low Carbon Transition Playbook. Conduct technical site energy assessments (Energy Kaizen, Energy Audit, Gemba Walks, etc.). Coordinate project entry into corporate platform with site stakeholders. Optimize rebate processes. Execute measurement and verification of savings. Identify Scope 3 reduction projects to achieve a 30% reduction by 2030. Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in sustainability or a similar role. Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and report on sustainability metrics. Proficiency in energy monitoring systems software and data analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CO2 emission tracking and reporting. Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and cost-saving measures. Strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices. LEED Green Associate.
