Job Description:
The Cloud Operations Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation, security, and scalability of Beveridge & Diamond P.C.’s cloud environments. This individual will manage and optimize cloud infrastructure with a focus on performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Key responsibilities include monitoring cloud services, implementing automation, managing data backups, handling Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) solutions, and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 standards. The Cloud Operations Engineer will also manage the firm’s CATO SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) implementation, supporting secure network access and ongoing performance optimization. The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking approach to support the firm’s 'Cloud or SaaS First' strategy and ensure the resiliency of critical services.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Operations & Optimization:
Manage day-to-day operations of cloud environments, including Azure, ensuring performance, availability, and security. Optimize cloud resources, focusing on cost management and efficient use of services. Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications to proactively identify and resolve issues. Implement automation scripts using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI to streamline operations. Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to manage and provision cloud resources. Data Backup & Disaster Recovery:
Monitor and manage the firm’s Rubrik backup system, ensuring backups run as scheduled and compliance with retention policies. Regularly test backup restores to ensure data integrity and availability. Oversee Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) efforts to ensure business resilience. Architect and execute advanced Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) strategies, including automated recovery and real-time failover capabilities. Cloud & Network Security:
Collaborate with the Cloud Security Engineer to deploy advanced security protocols, including Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), SIEM, and cloud-threat detection (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Cloud). Ensure seamless integration of cloud services with existing infrastructure and SaaS solutions like iManage DMS. SASE Implementation & Network Management:
Manage the firm's CATO SASE implementation to ensure secure, high-performance network access across cloud and on-prem environments. Oversee the ongoing configuration and optimization of the CATO SASE platform, ensuring seamless integration with the firm’s cloud and security infrastructure. Monitor the CATO SASE environment to ensure secure, high-performing network traffic for both remote and on-premises connectivity. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CATO SASE, including connectivity, performance, and security anomalies. Conduct performance reviews of the CATO SASE network, ensuring it meets or exceeds SLAs for uptime, security, and speed across global locations. Migration & Cloud Strategy:
Lead migration efforts from on-prem systems (VMware, NetApp, Pure Storage, VDI) to cloud platforms. Work with the Cloud Architect to continuously refine cloud strategies, evaluating new services to align with the firm’s goals. Device Management & Workstation Configuration:
Manage Microsoft Intune to ensure centralized control over device configurations, policies, and security for firm-wide endpoints (laptops, desktops, and mobile devices). Ensure all workstations are configured to meet security standards, including proper setup for encryption, firewall settings, and application management. Handle the configuration of workstations for new employees, ensuring proper access control and security protocols are enforced. Monitor and troubleshoot device performance, configurations, and security, using Intune's remote management and diagnostic tools. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in cloud operations, with a focus on Azure. Strong knowledge of cloud management tools, including experience with VMware, NetApp, Pure Storage, and VDI. Experience managing backup systems like Rubrik and DRaaS for Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity. Proficient with automation and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI). Experience managing SASE solutions, particularly CATO Networks, with a focus on SD-WAN, cloud security, and network performance optimization. Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions for managing and securing endpoints. Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls and API-based email security solutions. Strong knowledge of ZTNA frameworks and secure network policies in multi-site and cloud environments. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience with ISO 27001 standards and legal industry compliance is highly desirable. Cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus. Certifications or experience with CATO SASE or similar SASE/SD-WAN platforms is highly desirable.
