Data Scientist II
to support a DoD customer based in
San Diego, CA. ACTIVE SECRET UP TO TOP CLEARANCE REQUIRED Responsibilities: Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties identified independently. Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming and visualization software. Apply data mining, data modeling, natural processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets. Visualize, interpret, and report data findings. Create dynamic data reports. Software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts. Experience with frequent scripting use, such as Python and R, and using packages commonly used in data science applications. Qualifications Requirements: Master's Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or closely related field; OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or closely related field; OR Associates Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or closely related field WITH 4 years additional relevant experience. Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant focused experience. Relevant industry Certification such as: CompTIA Cloud Essentials/Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA)/Certificate of Cloud Security (CCSK) CompTIA A+ CompTIA Security+ EMC Data Science Associate (EMCDSA)/Cloudera Certified Data Scientist (CCDH) Certified Apache Hadoop Developer Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE)/Private Cloud/Certified Experience and Skills: Excellent oral and written skills. Excellent critical thinking skills. Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to learn and apply technical concepts to assigned duties. Experience with frequent scripting use, such as Python and R, and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics. Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives. Experience applying Structured Query (SQL) and Non-Structured Query (NoSQL). Experience with Application Program Interface (API) Building, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, Web Application Servers, or Search Index. Experience using programming and products such as Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, Requests, or Antigravity. Experience applying complex mathematical and statistical concepts. Experience applying statistical and operations research methods and tools.
