The Youth Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the youth ministry, including junior high and high school students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing the spiritual growth of youth, equipping them to become devoted followers of Christ, and empowering them to engage in the church’s mission. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong organizational, relational, and teaching skills who will play a mother/fathering role in shepherding youth to Jesus.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry strategy that aligns with the church’s mission and values. Teach and model biblical principles, encouraging students to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Plan and lead weekly youth group meetings, Bible studies, and prayer gatherings. Provide opportunities for students to engage in worship, service, and outreach. Relational Ministry:
Build meaningful relationships with students, their families, and volunteers. Offer pastoral care, counseling, and support to youth and their families. Create a safe and welcoming environment where all students feel valued and accepted. Discipleship and Mentorship:
Develop and implement discipleship programs that foster spiritual growth and maturity. Recruit, train, and equip adult volunteers to serve as mentors and small group leaders. Encourage and support students in their personal faith journeys and leadership development. Program Development and Management:
Plan and execute engaging and relevant events, retreats, and mission trips. Oversee the youth ministry budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of youth ministry programs and make necessary adjustments. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with church staff and leadership to integrate youth ministry with the broader mission and activities of the church. Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of upcoming events and the spiritual progress of their children. Foster a spirit of unity and collaboration within the church community. Qualifications:
A vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A strong sense of calling to youth ministry and a passion for working with youth. Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, education, or a related field (preferred). Previous experience in youth ministry leadership (preferred). Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong alignment with the church’s values of being Spirit-empowered, gospel-centered, and mission-focused.
