PKF San Diego, a full-service CPA firm with 45 employees, is seeking to fill the position for a Senior Tax Associate to join our growing team. This experienced individual will have the opportunity to work on preparing and reviewing various tax returns including, but not limited to, individuals, corporations, and partnerships. As a senior tax associate, you will work directly with partners, collaborate with other tax staff, and communicate directly with clients. Required fieldwork will be mostly local, with the rare occasion of out-of-town travel. What You’ll Do Prepare and review tax returns for “C” and “S” corporations (from start-up to $1 Billion in sales), partnerships, and individuals. Supervise staff, including:
delegating tasks on-the-job training reviewing work providing feedback assessing performance
Manage multiple engagements and contribute to a team environment. Communicate and build relationships with clients. Assist with other company administration and marketing activities as assigned. Research accounting and tax matters. Maintain awareness of general business trends and issues and apply that knowledge to client issues and solutions. Attend training seminars, professional development, and networking events. Become familiar with sections of the IRC. Correspond with government agencies to resolve notices. Your Skills + Experience
Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in accounting. Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic and desire to learn. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate. Possess critical thinking skills and have an acute attention to detail. Adept with Excel and Word. Have or are working toward a CPA certification. Experience with ProSystem-fx Tax and Access a plus. Full time – In Office site in Mission Valley, CA is preferable, Hybrid option available. Relocation assistance available. Compensation
$85,000 - $105,000 based on experience and qualifications. Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D). Paid Time Off and Company-wide Holidays. Firm-sponsored activities (e.g. baseball & soccer games, holiday party, community service, etc.). Discretionary alternative work schedule in the summer. Performance bonus program. CPE and CPA renewal fees paid for. Discounted rates for CPA review courses. Bonus upon passing all four sections of CPA exam.
