We are seeking a
Senior Tax Manager
to join our Finance department in Atlanta. The Senior Tax Manager will manage tax processes including but not limited to: federal, state, international, VAT, sales & use, partnership, withholding, and others. This position will evaluate tax laws and recommend acceptable practices to minimize taxes for partners and the Firm. In addition, the Senior Manager will manage and utilize various tax consultants to plan, develop, and implement processes to comply with various tax laws. The Senior Manager will assist in evaluating and implementing appropriate tax strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop policies and procedures to comply with tax laws and train other accounting teams as it relates to their function.
Lead the compliance process for federal and state returns with external accountants including timely delivery of workpapers, review of completed returns and distribution to our partners.
Manage international tax items, including foreign returns and distribution to local partners, estimated non-resident foreign tax payments, and VAT compliance.
Manage domestic tax items, including UBT, Franchise, MTA, Pass-through Entity Tax, other city/state jurisdictions.
Research and analyze tax positions. Monitor global tax developments, changes to state taxes, new jurisdiction research, etc.
Manage outside consultants as related to domestic and international tax matters to proactively comply with statutory changes, identify, and evaluate tax strategies.
Manage domestic and international tax audits.
Assist with budget of firm wide tax expenses, including property, UBT, Franchise, etc.
Assist in design of processes for OECD Pillar II compliance, IRC987 Branch Reporting, and transfer pricing requirements.
Lead, develop, mentor tax team members.
Other partnership tax responsibilities as needed, including preparing tax gross up calculations for partners and maintaining repository of composite and withholding tax elections.
Other tax responsibilities include review sales & use tax returns; review non-resident & withholding taxes; calculate expat compensations and foreign housing gross up; review and develop transfer pricing process; review property tax returns; review firm contracts for tax implications; manage Georgia retraining tax credit; prepare foreign tax certification.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be self-driven and committed to delivering high quality product & advice.
Able to evaluate tax laws, changes, trends to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Ability to multi-task and complete assignments within required time constraints and deadlines.
Superior client-service skills. Must have effective people skills and be able to interact well with all levels of personnel.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Detail oriented with ability to apply procedures and policies to various situations.
Strong technical accounting skills, to include understanding balance sheet and income statement relationships, intercompany account management, fixed asset accounting, and foreign currency transactions.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Master in Tax and CPA.
Minimum 8 years of public accounting experience.
Professional Services industry experience preferred, especially within a partnership structure.
