Riam Recruiting has the opportunity to partner with its long-time client in Oakland, California. They are a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) focusing on "whole patient health" and helping the underserved Asian population. These services include primary care services, mental health, case management, nutrition, and dental care.
The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Executive Leadership team and provides oversight and development for the organization's overall financial administration. This position will oversee over 20 employees in the department.
They seek someone with at least
10 years of leadership experience in financial management and staff supervision . This will include
at least 3 years of experience at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or have been in some sort of community health .
Roles and Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of managers for payer contracts, and revenue cycle departments.
Conducts supervisory/managerial responsibilities by the organization’s policies and applicable laws including interviewing and hiring of employees; planning assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Fosters an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among clients and staff.
Enforces clinic policies and procedures, including maintenance of client confidentiality under HIPAA privacy rules, to ensure that the principles are implemented.
Plays an active role in planning organization-wide activities such as general membership meetings, fundraisers, special clinic days, and other events.
Participates in outreach activities, agency advocacy, and serves on ad hoc committees, as requested.
Attends staff retreats and Board of Directors meetings, as required.
Participates in agency-wide quality improvement program processes and performance improvement teams to ensure excellence in the quality of services provided across the agency.
Ensures that the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Develops and maintains internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures of the organization to improve the overall operation and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and supervision of staff with a minimum of 3 years in the healthcare environment required.
Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Federally Qualified Health Centre specific experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate to advanced level competency in Excel.
Pay:
$200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
