The Finance Associate provides administrative and financial monitoring support for the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) department and is a critical liaison working with other departments to ensure financial activities associated with philanthropic gifts and grants are efficiently managed, maintained, and compliant with all applicable university policies, applicable laws, and regulations. Additional responsibilities include handling procurement, invoicing, and the accurate completion of expense reports. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

N/A NATURE AND SCOPE:

Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Finance Associate assists with the development, management, and monitoring of the department's budget and financial operations. The role requires an experienced administrator with a strong background in bookkeeping able to ensure the department's fiscal integrity and efficiency, and compliance with university policies. This position works collaboratively across DAR and extensively with colleagues in the key financial offices, including the University Budget Office and Office of Procurement and Contracting, along with other campus partners as needed. Teamwork and collaboration both across the University and with other development staff are essential. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Working closely with the Director of Administration, the Finance Associate primarily provides financial administrative support, including bookkeeping and account reconciliation across the entire department. The role assists with the management and monitoring of staff expenses to ensure the timely completion of expense reports and supports the procurement process, which includes the selection of vendors, negotiation of contracts, and management of purchase orders, ensuring that all expenditures align with approved budget guidelines and university financial policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of financial reports and summaries for review by the Director of Administration and senior leadership, as well as in the development of DAR’s annual budget and audits. The Finance Associate may also help to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies within the department’s financial operations. CORE COMPETENCIES: Excellent administrative, bookkeeping, and time management skills; Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting; Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and work with data to inform reporting and task completion; Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures; Ability to navigate internal processes and structures to problem-solve and contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence; Ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment; Ability to exercise independent judgment and a high degree of discretion. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and budgeting software; familiarity with Workday preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compliance Salary Range Disclosure Expected Pay Range: $81,818 - $90,000 About Us
