Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Houston, TX / New Orleans, LA / Columbus, OH

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering consulting firm. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in all phases of the design process, from initial conceptualization to the development of construction documentation, contributing to innovative solutions in power systems for industrial facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop criteria, perform computations/analyses, and prepare specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and technical reports for power systems.
  • Address complex power system challenges by applying advanced engineering principles and techniques.
  • Draft, review, and finalize project technical specifications to ensure adherence to quality and performance standards.
  • Conduct technical quality reviews to verify compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, IEEE, ANSI).
  • Collaborate with designers and drafters to create electrical systems that meet client requirements and align with established codes and standards.
  • Perform site visits to evaluate and document existing electrical systems.
  • Design and draft one-line diagrams, electrical room layouts, raceway and wiring layouts, and associated schedules.
  • Develop lighting and grounding system designs tailored to specific facility needs.
  • Specify and select electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), and power panels.
  • Perform power system analysis using tools like Easy Power or SKM.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in industrial system design.
  • Proficiency in designing and analyzing power systems, including hands-on experience with electrical engineering software (Easy Power, SKM).
  • Solid understanding of industry codes, regulations, and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of industrial systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and facility layouts.
